I’m so excited to introduce “Kettlebells for the Cure”. This is a special project close to my heart because my life was touched by cancer four times in the last eighteen months. I don’t have cancer, but my aunt, sister in law, and good friend had breast cancer. I also lost my aunt Betty to liver cancer last year. If you have ever had a friend or family member tell you that they’ve been diagnosed with cancer, I’m sure you know exactly how I felt all four times.
Panic and helplessness is the only way I can describe it. I never knew how to react or what to say, much less what to do. Because of that, I felt led to do something. So, I approached Ader Sporting Goods with the idea of making a pink kettlebell, with some proceeds going to the Dallas County Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for The Cure Foundation. I explained to them that we have an opportunity to make a difference. We could partner with the foundation and give some of the proceeds from the kettlebell sale to help with the cure and awareness of cancer. Ader agreed. Not only did they make a pink, 18lb kettlebell to benefit the Susan G. Komen Dallas County Affiliate, they took it a step further and also made a yellow, 26lb kettlebell to benefit the Live Strong, Lance Armstrong Foundation. I was thrilled.
Kettlebell Inc. is now offering a pink, 18lb Ader kettlebell and a yellow, 26lb Ader kettlebell, with $2.00 from the sale of each pink and yellow bell going to the Susan G. Komen Dallas County Affiliate and the Live Strong, Lance Armstrong Foundation. Initial quantities are limited, but this will definitely be an ongoing project.
We are honored to be affiliated with two such well-known and respected foundations.
Together we can make a difference.
